Arizona is a big place, one with lots of chefs, farmers, food artisans, and wholesale buyers. The problem is connecting these people with one another.

That’s where the annual Farmer+Chef Connection comes in. The event brings together food suppliers, buyers, and restaurateurs for a day of breakout workshops and networking opportunities. And for the first time, part of the event will also be open to other members of the food community as well.

The event will begin with a keynote speaker at 1 p.m. followed by breakout sessions beginning at 2 p.m., which will be help throughout the garden. The sessions and panels will cover topics relevant to institutional food buyers, restaurant owners, chefs, and food producers, with a heavy focus on industry-specific tools.

At 3:15 p.m. the Supplier’s Marketplace will begin, a vendor fair exclusively for Arizona food suppliers. The Farmer+Chef Connection will then conclude with a Local Food Reception at 4 p.m. This part of the event will feature local foods and informal networking opportunities and is open to the greater food community.

Full event registration, which is only open to wholesale buyers and suppliers, costs $25 per person. An addition $10 is required for a table during the Suppliers’ Marketplace.

Other members of the local food community can attend the Local Foods Reception for $10.
