Number 85: Green Chili at Rito’s Mexican Takeout

There’s a reason why Rito’s Mexican Takeout manages to be perpetually busy while being completely off-the-radar. The place isn’t on a major thoroughfare, but tucked into a residential area. The menu is super limited, and the only place to sit and eat is at a few picnic tables outside. Rito’s doesn’t even have a sign.

Still, people from all walks of life routinely make their way here for the outstanding food.

Rito’s green chili is consistently satisfying, with huge hunks of moist, tender meat in spicy sauce that’s more mouth-watering than tongue-searing. Served as a plain burro or smothered enchilada-style, it’s packaged in a tender tortilla that’s practically bursting when you bite into it.

As a bonus, Rito’s is so cheap you’ll want to eat here every day.
