The fourth annual Arizona Taco Festival expects to bring some 100,000 tacos to Salt River Fields this October 19 and 20. In 2011, USA Today named the event one of the best places to feast at a festival, highlighting the tequila tastings, Lucha Libre wrestling, and, of course, the tacos.

The festival will bring together more than 50 taco teams to compete in various categories for $10,000 in prize money. Attendees will be able to taste tacos of all varieties for $2 each, and this year in addition to chicken, pork, beef and seafood varieties, vegetable tacos will be available. The teams are prepared to serve more than 100,000 tacos collectively over the two-day event.
In addition to all that eating, there’s plenty to do and see at this fest. Back again will be the popular Lucha Libre wrestling as well as the “Ay Chihuahua! Beauty Pageant,” on Sunday during which 15 pretty pups will strut the stage.

Saturday’s events will include the tequila tasting expo, where $20 will buy you samples of 10 different varieties of tequila. Of course, with 100 different tequilas to choose from, we won’t be surprised it you can’t pick just 10. Sunday will bring Flair Margarita Challenge, during which local bartenders will compete to pour the best margarita.

The event will also offer live music, cooking demos, food contests and more.
General admission costs $12 a day with pre-sale VIP admission available for $85. Tickets are for sale now online.
