Astor House, the charming little eatery in Central Phoenix, may be the smallest of owner DJ Fernandes’ three restaurants (next-door Tuck Shop and Vovomeena on Seventh Avenue and McDowell being the other two), but it’s celebrating a big milestone.

At 1 p.m. Sunday, April 14, Astor House will celebrate its one-year anniversary with what Fernandes is calling a “mega-authentic N’awlins crawfish boil.”
And the lobster-like freshwater crustaceans won’t be the only New Orleans treat at the party.

In addition to the crawfish boil, Fernandes, who spent time in New Orleans to attend architectural school, will be serving up muffuletta, the Sicilian-style sandwich that originated in the French Quarter, and King Cake, the colorful, ring-shaped cake popular during Mardi Gras.
The cost of the all-you-can-eat event is $12 per person (plus three bucks a beer). Simply show up if you’re planning on attending. Fernandes says the celebration will last “till the beer and bugs are gone. Like at dark.”
