Following nearly everyone else in fast-food land, Carl’s Jr. has finally come out with its own chicken wrap. Called Hand-Breaded Chicken Tender Wrappers, each one features one of CJ’s chicken tenders rolled up in a flour tortilla with shredded lettuce, cheese and choice of buttermilk ranch, honey mustard, or barbecue sauce.
My e-mail from Carl’s Jr. proudly stated, “Breaded by hand. Wrapped with love.” After receiving one of each, I might have added, “packaged with whatever,” given their white paper wrapping and stickers of various colors meant to identify the sauces. Wait, what did I order — a half pound of shrimp? And what does pink mean again? Barbecue? Cotton Candy?
Okay, I’m over it. At least they didn’t come out at the temperature of a Supernova like their hand-breaded chicken tenders did. Let’s take a bite and see what’s up.
The Pro’s: If you like Carl’s Jr. Hand-Breaded Chicken Tenders, their new wrap is for you. It’s got chicken in every bite and it’s cheap (about a buck-fifty) with around 310 calories, depending on which sauce you use. Hint: Stick with the honey mustard or ranch sauces. The barbecue sauce is overpowering and way too sweet.

The Con’s: If you’re like Fry Girl and think Carl’s Jr. Hand-Breaded Chicken Tenders taste like breaded rubber dipped in chicken flavoring, take a pass — I’ll take a Wendy’s Grilled Chicken Go Wrap any day.
Plus, the tortillas stick to the paper, which is kind of a bitch.
Would Fry Girl Order One Again: Hell, no.
What say you, chicken wrap rappers? Have you tried the Carl’s Jr. new Hand-Breaded Chicken Tender Wrap? What did you think?
