Three months ago, when chef James Porter abruptly shuttered his restaurant Tapino Kitchen & Wine Bar, he promised to return later this summer with a brand-new, more budget-friendly French country bistro in Scottsdale.

Now, he’s ready to deliver. Petite Maison is officially opening its doors at 5 p.m. on Sunday, August 23.

With only 63 seats total between the dining room, bar, and patio, it’ll offer a much more intimate dining experience than spacious Tapino. The menu includes cheeses, charcuterie, starters such as foie gras and steak tartare, and main dishes like cassoulet, roast chicken, and steak frites. Nightly “staff meal” specials will also be offered from 10 p.m. to midnight Thursday through Saturday. Weekend brunch will be available starting September 5, and lunch and breakfast service will begin September 8.

Petite Maison is located at 7612 E. Shoeman Lane in Scottsdale.
