Seems as if celebu-chef Chris Bianco was in The City of Brotherly Love last week to show a little love of his own.
Bianco joined 36 other top chefs at Philadelphia’s Naval Yard for “The Great Chefs Event,” an annual fundraiser founded by James Beard Award winner and Philadelphia’s best-known Italian chef, Marc Vetri. The event benefits Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to funding childhood cancer research.
Bianco, along with other culinary greats like Tom Colicchio, John Besh, Iron Chef Jose Garces, Jennifer Carroll, and Jonathan Waxman prepared tasty creations for more than 1,000 guests at a minimum admission of 300 bucks a person.

The Epoch Times reports that top chefs from across the nation have made the event an annual tradition and that this year, three chefs came from Italy to participate. This year’s event raised nearly one million dollars.
Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation is the legacy of Alexandra “Alex” Scott, an 8-year-old cancer patient who started a lemonade stand when she was four at her home in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania, to raise money for all children with cancer. Since her death in 2004, Alex’s Lemonade Stand has been fighting cancer, “one cup at a time” with thousands of lemonade stands popping up across the country.
