So is it the economy, the location, or the cuisine?
For some reason, Vietnamese cuisine hasn’t had a very successful run on Mill Avenue. Over the weekend, Pho Thang Long abruptly closed up shop.
Open a little more than a year, it occupied the spot at the corner of Mill Ave and 4th Street, which previously housed the relatively short-lived Dragonfly Vietnamese Kitchen.
My take? It just wasn’t very good. And it was pricey for Vietnamese. Folks who appreciate the cuisine know that sometimes the best pho can be found in a plastic tablecloth hole in the wall, cooked by mom-and-pop restaurateurs.
I considered it a red flag when I had to wait around for someone to bring me sriracha.
