At that point, the place had been open less than a week (I rarely visit such new restaurants), but I got a good impression. Service was friendly and prompt, and the green chile pork was succulent, served with tomato and tomatillo salsas.
I also enjoyed the moist, fluffy rice and cheese-flecked beans. Good stuff, and reasonably priced.
My only complaint was with the strawberry agua fresca. I drank it too fast and wished for a refill (not really much of a gripe, though, given the two-dollar price tag).
Stop by and check out the ladies making tortillas in the front window. There’s no doubt that Verde’s tortillas are as fresh as can be.
