eat.shop.phoenix, subtitled, “The Indispensable Guide to Inspired, Locally Owned Eating and Shopping Establishments.”

Author Anna H. Blessing makes it pretty clear that she doesn’t live in the Valley, but has family connections here. For her compilation of blurbs on local eateries and boutiques, she solicited recommendations from business owners around town. (Actually, I knew about that from Matt Pool, who mentioned months ago that Blessing had been to The Roosevelt, and had picked his brain on places to check out.)

Locals won’t find much, if anything, that’s new in this tome — picks include longstanding CenPho favorites like Pizzeria Bianco, Fate, and Lisa G, with a few additions from other parts of the Valley — but it doesn’t seem to be geared to Phoenicians anyway.

When news happens, Phoenix New Times is there —
Your support strengthens our coverage.

We’re aiming to raise $30,000 by December 31, so we can continue covering what matters most to you. If New Times matters to you, please take action and contribute today, so when news happens, our reporters can be there.

$30,000

However, I do think it would make a fun gift for newcomers, as well as a handy resource for out-of-towners.
