Consider this the yin to my yang post about new restaurants yesterday.
One corner of Mill Avenue is a little darker these days, since Dragonfly Vietnamese Kitchen and Coconut Club Bar & Grill both closed their doors two weeks ago. On the upside, Dragonfly’s original location in Mesa (which somehow always struck me as tastier than the Tempe outpost) is still going strong.
Next Wednesday will be the last day that chef-owner Daniel Livni serves up his awesome hummus and Russian potato salad at Sabuddy in North Scottsdale. Unfortunately, the location never quite took off in the way that his old Tempe spot did (and lucky me, I used to live near that one! Those were the days).

And next Friday will be the last day in business for the Mediterranean House, according to owner Toni Prall. As I reported a few months ago, this closure isn’t about declining sales as much as it is about throwing in the towel after the lease expires.
