Firehouse Subs, the fast food franchise with over 435 locations, is planning to open its fifth one in Arizona in the Arcadia Plaza on Indian School Road and 28th Street.

Founded in Jacksonville, Florida, by former firefighting brothers Chris and Robin Sorensen, Firehouse Subs, open for lunch and dinner, is known for its oversized portions, hot submarine sandwiches, and an atmosphere that reflects firefighter heritage. In addition, Firehouse Subs was the first to nationally roll out Coca-Cola Freestyle, the touch screen soda fountain featuring over 100 Coca-Cola drink products.

With existing Arizona locations in Chandler, Mesa, and Glendale, it doesn’t look like long until the construction efforts at Arcadia Plaza are complete and Firehouse Subs can put out the fires (of hunger) in the buildings (bellies) of Central Phoenix folk with creations like the “New York Steamer” and “Firehouse Meatball.”

(insert firetruck wailing siren sound here.)
