Scottsdale’s Sweet Republic is celebrating four years of delicious ice cream by giving away free scoops from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13. They’ll also be offering door prizes and giveaways including homemade marshmallows, bacon brittle, gift certificates, and Sweet Republic branded swag.

And they’ll be hosting their second annual toffee banofi sundae-eating contest. Kinda an odd name, right? It turns out that at least one of the Sweet Republic owners have spent time overseas, specifically in England, and banoffee pie is a flavor that followed them home. Their take on it sounds like the delicious collision between a banana split and banoffee pie. It’s a couple scoops of vanilla ice cream, covered in house caramel syrup, almond toffee, whipped cream, and bananas. For the contest, they’ll be serving an extra-large version of their sundae, with a $50 gift certificate for the winner. If you want in on the sundae-eating contest, you’ll need to sign up before 5 p.m. and hope you’re one of the five lucky contestants when they draw names.

Oh, and, of course, there’s a catch: The entire sundae has to be taken down with only your mitts and mouth. No spoons, forks, or bendy straws.
