What We Bought: The Gilbert Farmer’s Market had a pretty modest showing last weekend, maybe because of the chilly breeze, but we’re still fans because of its proximity to Liberty Market. As far as fresh, local produce goes, you have to buy from Agritopia while you’re at the GFM because the fruits and veggies are grown about a mile down the road–doesn’t get much more local than that.

For energy while browsing, we grabbed a chew this bar ($4) from Seize the Fork. The super healthy granola bar is packed with apples, cranberries and oodles of greens made from their super powders–it’s full of good stuff, but still tastes sweet. Next we raided the Made By Bees stand, where Private Stock Orange Blossom Raw Honey ($14) blended with its comb and Prickly Pear Butter ($8.50) are only two of the tasty things we just had to have this week. What We Skipped:

$30,000

We adore Juice Core‘s cold-pressed, organic juices in general and can’t wait to try their 3-day cleanse, but we decided to buy $12 worth of veggies at the different produce stands and see how much of our own juice blends we can squeeze instead of getting a single bottle for that price. Granted, theirs tasted better than our kale-ginger-carrot-blood orange-etc. concoction, but we made at least three times as much and it was our first foray into juicing–practice makes perfect!!

We also passed up the Double Check Ranch stand. Although some of our favorite restaurants, like Pane Bianco, use DCR’s delicious, guilt-free (as much as it can be) meats we couldn’t justify dropping $40 on a few pieces of lamb that wasn’t ready to eat already.

What We’re Still Lusting Over: Mole might just be our number one favorite condiments/sauces in the whole world, and one of Chow Bella’s most recent bloggers and owner of Muñeca Mexicana, Minerva Orduño Rincón, makes a delicious mole poblano. Next time we’re in Gilbert, we plan on picking up a jar for $6. We also love pickled winter veggies, so we’re still regretting not grabbing some pickled brussel sprouts from Ray’z “Not Yet World Famous” at the Urban Survival stand. A large jar is $12 and the smaller is $7… there’s always next time.
