Here at Chow Bella, we understand how important it is to give (and receive) the perfect foodie gift. So this season, we’re helping out by offering 21 food- and drink-focused gift suggestions, one each work day until Christmas, from a local business or provider. You get scads of rock-star ideas, the dollars stay in the Valley, and we get to go shopping — win, win, win!

1: Giving Back Giving: A Donation to the Association of Arizona Food Banks

Need a last minute gift for the person who has everything? How about a gift that gives to others — in a most-needed way?

Established in 1984, the Association of Arizona Food Banks (AAFB) is a private, non-profit organization serving five regional food bank members and a network of nearly 1,700 food pantries and agencies.

When news happens, Phoenix New Times is there —
Your support strengthens our coverage.

We’re aiming to raise $30,000 by December 31, so we can continue covering what matters most to you. If New Times matters to you, please take action and contribute today, so when news happens, our reporters can be there.

$30,000

The AAFB develops food resources, promotes nutrition, advocates for public policy changes to help hungry people, fosters cooperation among food banks, networks with government, local, state and national leaders dedicated to ending hunger, and engages all sectors of society in hunger awareness and sensitivity.

Through their website, you can make a secure, one-time or monthly donation. Plus, acknowledgements, without dollar amounts, can be sent to your honorees.

It’s nothing short of a shining example of the true spirit of the holidays.
