A late lunch at Tea Light Cafe in North Scottsdale was like visiting my own private oasis — it was just me and Buddha hanging out.

Halfway through my taro boba — which was about 30 seconds after I got it — I realized I needed a picture. Chewy tapioca balls plus milky taro tea is dessert in a cup.

On a warm, sunny day, bun noodles (rice vermicelli) topped with grilled pork hit the spot. The flavor of the pork was outstanding (surely they have a stellar marinade recipe) — sweetness mingled with a bit of smoky char. I couldn’t eat all of the noodles, but I could certainly pick out all of the meat.
