From now through Caramelpalooza — March 2 at Smeeks candy shop — Chow Bella will introduce you to the 17 chefs participating in the third annual caramel tasting. Today, meet Joan and Tim O’Connor of Honey Moon Sweets
This culinary duo has been rolling out pastries from from their well-loved Tempe bakery for over 15 years. While they’re famous for their elaborate wedding cakes, we look forward to seeing what they do with some scorched sugar.

T: A cook stove?
J: Well if you could start a fire… you’d need to have something to put stuff in… So a saute pan with a handle.
