Houston’s at the Esplanade closed its doors last night, reports the Phoenix Business Journal, after many years as a favorite haunt for the Camelback Corridor business crowd.
Just up the street, though, its sister eatery, Hillstone, has finally opened its doors in a brand-new building situated where Chevy’s Fresh Mex used to be, at 2650 E. Camelback.
Both spots are among 11 different concepts owned by the Beverly Hills-based Hillstone Group. While the Houston’s brand was first in the company, “several flagship locations have transitioned to the Hillstone name,” according to the company’s website. Phoenix is the ninth Hillstone in the country, joining other locations from Boston to Dallas to Santa Monica.
If you’re a fan of Houston’s, don’t fret: The Hillstone menu looks quite similar, including grilled pork chops, rotisserie chicken, steaks, burgers, salads, and other American fare.
