If you happen to be in Tucson this weekend, you might want to stop by the Mercado San Agustin for “HotDish in the Old Pueblo,” a pop-up venture by Phoenix’s Lara Mulchay and Joel LaTondress.
You might remember Mulchay from Petite Fromage, her (sadly) now-defunct Phoenix cheese shop. The self-described “cheesemonger” promises “future retail cheese and charcuterie sales” will be a part of HotDish Enterprise — her new joint venture with Joel LaTondress, a web developer who has worked on special events with many Valley chefs.
HotDish is planning a brick and mortar establishment in the Biltmore/Arcadia area in early 2012. Sooner, expect the launch of “Community Supported Provisions,” which they describe as “a membership-based program in which recipients will receive a box full of artisan cheeses, charcuterie and other fine foods on a weekly/monthly basis.”
When news happens, Phoenix New Times is there —
Your support strengthens our coverage.
We’re aiming to raise $30,000 by December 31, so we can continue covering what matters most to you. If New Times matters to you, please take action and contribute today, so when news happens, our reporters can be there.
Or, as HotDish puts it, “think pop-up general store for foodies.”
Cool.
