Hey-oh! One wouldn’t think a publication like Los Angeles Magazine would have slow news days when it comes to the topic of food, but this week in its online Digest section, dedicated to “L.A.’s tastiest restaurant gossip, culinary events, and food finds,” it seems it did. What to do? What else? Take a shot at us rubes here in the Valley.

It seems when the Digest folks received a copy of the September issue of Phoenix Magazine in the mail, the cover, a photograph of Crudo chef and owner Cullen Campbell with a fish around his collar, inspired “quite the standup routine around the Los Angeles magazine offices” and the team came up with 15 worst caption ideas for it.

“It’s all in good fun,” the Digest posts says. “After all, we can’t blame Phoenix — they’re from Arizona!”
