From several small video appearances for his restaurant to Iron Chef America, Mark Tarbell, chef and owner of Tarbell’s, the award-winning neighborhood restaurant in Central Phoenix, can hardly be called camera shy — plus, c’mon, he’s so damn engaging.
That’s why we’re happy Tarbell’s at it again, this time on the Cooking Channel’s Food(ography), the show of cultural food treats hosted by Mo Rocca.
The segment, called “Campfires & Cowboys,” will include Tarbell making lime and mescal marinated shrimp with salsa verde in his backyard (Tarbell’s Facebook page says he’s called, “The Urban Cowboy.”) There’s also chicken-fried steak from a chuck wagon in Buffalo Gap, Texas, a S’mores cocktail, and campfire sushi at the Treebones Resort in Big Sur.
The show is set to air at 6 and 10 p.m. tonight, August 16, on the Cooking Channel.
