Shoppers at Lam’s Supermarket, the Asian grocery store on the Phoenix’s west side, may have been a bit surprised to see the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office in the aisles last week. And they weren’t on the hunt for prawn-flavored chips or chocolate-stuffed egg rolls.

According to the Associated Press, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office says nine suspects were arrested after an identity-theft raid at 1 p.m. Thursday at Lam’s Asian International Food Market.

The Associated Press reports that deputies received the tip from a former store employee and that the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office says nine other suspects are still at large and may be headed to states in the Midwest. Sheriff Joe Arpaio says the nine arrested have been booked into the downtown Phoenix jail on felony charges.
