You’ll be forgiven if you thought that CityScape’s latest restaurant, The Arrogant Butcher, was already open to the public. The place has been booked with VIP parties for days.
But, in fact, it officially opens its doors today.
Whether people come out in droves to dine at Sam Fox’s new restaurant concept remains to be seen (I ranted about “ShittyScape” last week, and it provoked a lot of responses — which is a good thing, because it tells me that people give a damn about what’s going on Downtown)).
But from the looks of the menu, it’s aiming for the dining public’s sweet spot: contemporary American cuisine with comforting flourishes (house soft pretzels with provolone fondue; beef short rib stew with green chiles, fried egg, and cornbread; turkey sloppy joes with grilled poblanos and pepperjack), and reasonable prices.
