One of the most requested food bank items from families in need, according to Feeding America, is milk. The nonprofit gives only a gallon per person per year to the 37 million people it serves. Beginning today, the Great American Milk Drive will accept donations both online and via text to get much-needed nutrient-rich milk to Phoenix families. Simply go online to the Great American Milk Drive‘s website or text “Milk” to 27722 to donate. Entering your ZIP code ensures that the milk goes from a Phoenix farm to a local family, although we’re sure it’d go to good use anywhere nationally, too.
