This fall Outstanding in the Field, the company that hosts unique outdoor dining events, will return to Gilbert’s Agritopia community. The company aims to “re-connect diners to the land and the origins of their food, and to honor the local farmers and food artisans who cultivate it” by hosting picturesque pop-up dinners at farms and other unconventional locales all over the country.
This year’s Outstanding in the Field event at The Farm at Agritopia will be held on Tuesday, October 21 at 2 p.m., featuring Agritopia farmer Erich Schultz and chef Gio Osso of Scottsdale’s Virtu Honest Craft.
The dinner event will be held outdoors in one orange grove at The Farm at Agritopia. Diners will sit at long community tables and enjoy a multi-course dinner crafted by chef Osso. The chef will aim to showcase the importance of Arizona as an agricultural state by using fresh produce picked from the farm.

Outstanding in the Field was founded by Jim Denevan more than a decade ago in Santa Cruz, Cali. and has since hosted more than 600 dinner events in a variety of diverse settings. The idea is to invite the public out to a farm to bridge the gap between farm to table.
Tickets to the event cost $205 a person and are available online. The dinner is expected to sell out within a few days, so if you’re serious about getting in on this unique experience then you’ll want to act fast.
