The competition was the stiffest yet this year, with dozens of entries in our pie-ku contest. There can only be one winner, and with stakes this high we conducted a blind judging with pie-ku pro (and former winner) Michael Tucker doing the honors.
And he chose an entry written by Janet Traylor. Her pie-ku:

Look! Hidden treasure.
Traylor will join our panel of esteemed judges this Saturday to judge the celebrity chef entries at Pie Social. Even if you didn’t win, you can still stuff yourself with pie — just be warned, that it does go fast. So arrive early.

Forks up, Phoenix! New Times and Roosevelt Row present the sixth annual Pie Social at 2 on Saturday, November 21, at the Bioscience High School at 512 East Pierce Street in Phoenix. If you don’t win the reader judge contest, don’t fear — there will be plenty of pie for you. You can pay $10 for 5 tasting tickets or bring 2 pies in exchange for 5 tickets.
