When it comes to creating one-of-a-kind cakes for ginormous events, most of us would add our own sweat to the list of ingredients.

Not chef Tracy DeWitt, an instructor at Scottsdale’s Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts, self-described sugar artist, and five-time competitor on Food Network Challenge. DeWitt will be creating a showpiece cake to celebrate the city of Scottsdale’s 60th Anniversary, and she’s asking the community to select the winning design from three concepts: “The Jewel Box,” “Old West Meets New West,” and “Scottsdale Greenbelt.”

The deadline for voting is midnight on Thursday, June 2. To meet chef DeWitt and see the design concepts, go here. To pick your favorite, you can “like” the Scottsdale government’s Facebook page or avoid the uncomfortable having-a-government-for-a-friend thing by voting via email at events@ScottsdaleAZ.gov.

The winning cake design will be unveiled at a breakfast party on Saturday, June 25, hosted by Scottsdale’s Mayor and City Council.
