It’s been about a year since chef Justin Beckett opened his second restaurant, Southern Rail, at The Newton in uptown Phoenix. And in the past 12 months, the Southern-inspired restaurant has become a go-to spot for diners seeking Southern fare done with finesse.

Now Beckett’s ready to unveil a new set of menus along with a updated happy hour deals — though the biggest change might be the appearance of Beckett’s well-loved fried chicken on the daily dinner menu.

In addition to the fried chicken becoming available seven days a week after 5 p.m. (though only in limited quantities), the new lunch, dinner, and brunch menus include new dishes such as chopped shrimp remoulade ($14) with butter lettuce, shaved radish, and pea tendrils; seared Scottish salmon ($21) with summer corn risotto and baby spinach; and the SR sampler ($13), which features tasso ham, pickled veggies, bacon onion jam, pimento cheese, tomato jam, nuts, and toast.

Today, the restaurant also will launch a new Social Hour running from 3 to 6 p.m. daily at the bar and community table. The Social Hour menu includes $4 draft beers, select wines by the glass for $5, half-off select appetizers and small plates, and select housemade cocktails for $6.
