One of the creators of P.F. Chang’s China Bistro is about to bring a new Asian restaurant called Sunshine Moon Peking Pub to the Old Town Scottsdale space that previously housed Bacon.
Rich Sullivan — who was behind the original P.F. Chang’s concept, is an investor in the original Humble Pie pizzeria, and is currently involved in nearby 5th and Wine — is opening the new spot in mid-November with his wife, Dr. Julie Chandler.
They plan to serve a pan-Asian menu of classic dishes as well as contemporary takes on traditional Asian cuisine. There will be an open kitchen in the 104-seat dining room, and a 28-seat wrap-around bar.
Sullivan and Chandler’s business partners boast a slew of high-profile achievements as well.
Head chef Emilio Morales most recently was Director of Culinary for Fox Restaurant Concepts’ Sauce, and previously was Chef Partner at P.F. Chang’s, Director of Culinary for Pei Wei, and Chef Partner at Sen of Japan in Sag Harbor, New York. Scott Yanni, in charge of beverages, currently handles the wine program at 5th and Wine, and expanded his knowledge as Operating Partner at Fleming’s.
Sunshine Moon Peking Pub will be open Tuesday through Sunday at 4175 N. Goldwater Blvd.
