Locavore 2: Synchronicity — that might sound like the latest summer blockbuster, or perhaps some remix of a Police album, but it’s what the folks at Tapino Kitchen & Wine Bar are calling their upcoming Arizona food and wine dinner. The first such locavore event, held back in February, was such a hit that they’re doing it again on Thursday, June 19.

Incredibly, they’re offering a five-course menu, crafted from local ingredients, as well as wine pairings, all for $40 — sounds like one of the sweetest deals I’ve heard about in awhile. Turns out, Local First Arizona, the Arizona Farm Bureau, the City of Scottsdale, and private donors are helping to subsidize the event, all in the name of promoting the local food economy.

From 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., guests will get a chance to mingle with local farmers, ranchers, chefs, and activists. Dinner starts at 6:30 p.m., and will feature food for thought from supporters in the culinary community between courses.
