It’s time to put your thinking caps on and spend an evening learning about food in Phoenix when TEDxEvansChurchill puts on the “Can’t Stand the Heat, Get Out of the Kitchen” series of food-centric presentations on Thursday, August 28. Since TED talks are known for being illuminating and entertaining, Phoenix food lovers definitely won’t want to miss the event, which will cover everything from cocktails and beer to gardening and food trucks.

The event, which will take place at the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Phoenix, already has Stephanie Teslar (bartender at Blue Hound), Payton Curry (chef at Brat Haus), and Brad Moore (owner of Short Leash) on the bill. There’s even a talk about medibles (a.k.a. marijuana in food) planned for the evening.

After all of the informative festivities are over, the FED After TED event will provide tasting samples of food and beer to hungry attendees to try out while they chat about what they learned courtesy of Phoenix Public Market, Kincaid’s, and more.
