What’s the best reason to ride the light rail into downtown this weekend (or sweet-talk somebody into being your designated driver)? There are too many to choose from. Don Julio, Patron, Jose Cuervo, Milagro, Campo Azul . . .
These brands and dozens more will be showcased at Tequilaaz, a celebration of premium tequila and mezcal that takes place from 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, inside the Lath House at Heritage & Science Park. (UPDATE: I just got the word that the Valley Fever arts festival, scheduled to take place throughout the park this weekend, ain’t happening…)
Of course, nobody expects you to do your sipping on an empty stomach, so there will be food from Saguaro Blossom at the Four Seasons, Pinatas Latin Kitchen, and Juan Jaime’s Tacos & Tequila, as well as music, a margarita showdown, and seminars on agave culture (space for those is limited, so register online).
Tickets are $45 in advance, and $50 at the door.
