Don’t have plans for Labor Day weekend yet? That’s all right; there’s still time to get tickets to Phoenix Cooks. The 11th annual event, produced by iHeartMedia Phoenix, will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, September 5 at the Westin Kierland Resort and Spa in Scottsdale.
More than 50 local chefs and restaurants will participate in the event this year, offering food and drinks to more than 3,000 attendees. Participating restaurants include Top of the Rock, Arizona Biltmore, North Italia, and The Greene House — and chefs and restaurants are still able to sign up to participate online.
In addition to the dining and drinking, attendees will be able to check out the action on the main stage, where pairs of chefs will go head to head in a battle to see who makes the best dish with a mystery ingredient. On other interactive stages, various chefs will do cooking demonstrations every half-hour.
The event also includes beer- and wine-tasting classes throughout the day, though admission to the supplementary events costs an additional $25.
