Want to Work at St. Francis or Aaron Chamberlin’s New Restaurant? Job Fair at the Phoenix Public Market on Saturday

We’ve been staring at the empty windows of the former Phoenix Public Market for quite a while now and the pain is only that much more acute since we’re also impatiently waiting for Aaron Chamberlin to open his next restaurant in the space. He announced his plans to take over the downtown Phoenix building about a year ago and said he’d hope to be open by early 2013. Obviously that didn’t happen and last we heard he was shooting for late spring.

Well, folks, it looks like he’s getting one step closer to opening since St. Francis announced they’ll be hosting a hiring fair this weekend to fill spots at both St. Francis and the new cafe.

According to a post on the St. Francis Facebook page, the restaurant will be hosting a hiring far on Saturday, April 13 at the Phoenix Public Market. The event will take place from 8.a.m to noon and they’ll be looking for people to fill positions at both St. Francis and the “new cafe adjacent to the Market.”

The post doesn’t say if the jobs are in the front or back of the house.

St. Francis is known for Chamberlin’s seasonally-driven and locally-sourced food that tends to be simple yet wholesome.

He’s said the new cafe will be farm-driven and that Chef Paul Steele, who’s worked at T. Cook’s, Tarbell’s and The Silverleaf Club, will help him run it. The menu will feature many of the same local producers as at St. Francis, except that this time they’ll be used to create “Fresh Market Cuisine.” Think rotisserie chicken, burgers and lots of veggies. Chamberlin’s said it will be a fast, casual experience with pricing of $10 and under for breakfast and lunch and $15 and under for dinner.
