You’ve got to wonder when Alice Cooper even finds time to play celebrity golf tournaments. Not only is he busy inspiring attractions at Universal Studios, feeding Adam Richman Big Units at Cooperstown, and hosting a popular radio show on KSLX 100.7 FM, but Cooper’s prepping release of a new record, Welcome 2 My Nightmare, a sequel to his ’75 album Welcome to My Nightmare.
And luckily for everyone, this Nightmare features the one thing the original didn’t: Ke$ha.
The unexpected guest is right up Cooper’s alley: “I think a lot of my audience is going to go ‘KE$HA!?’, but she probably wrote the most wicked lyrics in the song – we had to rein her in. I like people to know that just because artists are put in a pigeon hole, that doesn’t mean that’s what they are. Give people a little room.”
The album finds Cooper reunited with the original Nightmare’s producer, Bob Ezrin, and pairs Cooper with co-songwriters Buckcherry’s Keith Nelson, Desmond Child, Dick Wagner, and others.

The record hits store and download sites on September 13, and being the old-school kind of guy he is, Cooper hasn’t yet released a preview MP3. You can hear a live version “I’ll Bite Out Your Face,” which features Ke$ha on the album. Wonder if Ke$ha kicked Cooper to the curb because he didn’t look like Mick Jagger.
