Three Halloweens ago, Radio Phoenix launched an alternative to corporate radio in the Valley.
After three years of thriving online, the listener-supported station is celebrating its success with a little shindig.
Phoenix might be far from the Bayou, but that doesn’t meant we don’t have our share respectable blues and Cajun-style music. You just have to know where to find it (on, say, the digital airwaves of Radio Phoenix).
The Bayou Blues Festival, taking place this Sunday, features Voodoo Bonedaddy, Full Moon Mojo, Loose Canyons Blues Band, Dirty Music Express, and Arizona Alligators.
Celebrate local acts and three years of independent radio at the Phoenix Center for the Arts. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. The chillins (that’s, uh, Bayou for “children”) and Radio Phoenix members get in for free.
