Ciara is down for getting dropped by her record label, according to Billboard.
The hip-hop star has shot down rumors that Jive Records has dropped her. However, she said that she wouldn’t be opposed to the company doing so.
Over the last two years she has experienced substantial artistic limitations, which is why she is ready to part ways with Jive.
“A release would allow me to go be creative with people who care and understand me as an artist,” Ciara said.

At one point, Jive even quietly refused to give Ciara any radio promotion for her song “Gimmie Dat” and went as far as telling radio stations not to play it.
You’d think a record wouldn’t mind making some extra money from radio spins, but I guess not. It’s one thing to not give an artist full artistic freedom, but it seems as if Jive has certainly reached a new low.
