D-JR is the top party DJ in town, at least according to the Red Bull Thre3Style contest held at the Venue of Scottsdale Wednesday night. D-JR, who prides himself on his technical skills, won the local stop on the energy drink-sponsored 13-city tour, where he faced off against eight other local DJs and won the event. Jazzy Jeff also spun at the event.

D-JR advances to the national finals in Denver on October 7, when he will compete against winners from 13 other cities for the chance to battle international DJs from 12 other countries in Paris.

Organizers say the event drew 1,000 fans to Venue of Scottsdale to see D-JR defeat Death to the Throne and Robby Rob, who took second and third place.
