Bummed out that Drake skipped Phoenix in favor of Tucson earlier this month?
Well, be bummed no more: Everyone’s favorite former-Degrassi star/current sexy music maven is returning to Arizona, planning a stop at Ashley Furniture HomeStore Pavilion on Thursday, May 10.
Drake’s latest, Take Care, earned him four Grammy nominations. Tracks like “Lord Knows” and The Weeknd-assisted “Crew Love” found him in exploring new pop heights, and confessional numbers like “Marvin’s Room” and “Doing It Wrong” (featuring Stevie Wonder) demonstrated his grip on the quiet, bedroom R&B style he had previously hinted at.
It’s interesting to note the openers, J. Cole, Waka Flocka Flame, Meek Mill and 2 Chainz, acts that show off the tricky balancing act that Drake has managed, with one foot firmly in the mainstream and another in more ambient territory.
