Sometimes going for the literal makes for one of the coolest fliers. And when that means showing off a picture of what appears to be an exploding birthday cake, the result is even cooler.
So is the case with this poster for indie rockers Bomb the Music Industry and pop band Happy Birthday‘s concert Sunday, August 8 at The Trunk Space in Phoenix.
“I had an old picture, from I don’t know when, and it seemed to work,” says The Trunk Space owner JRC. While the flier design idea was simple, this is a special show for the intimate venue. JRC points out Bomb the Music Industry usually plays spots twice as big as The Trunk Space, so this is your chance to hear and group up-close-and-personal. And giving the national acts some love are locals Andrew Jackson Jihad.
“This show is straight up and down kick-ass,” JRC says.
