In the spirit of the new year, the New Times is feeling festive, so we’re featuring two fliers this week! Also, all of this week’s coolest fliers are coming from shows at the Rogue Bar.
Personally, this flier caught my eye because it reminded me of the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Stadium Arcadium album cover. However, there’s a better explanation for the flier’s inspiration.
“I’m a pretty nerdy girl, so I usually start at a comic/sci-fi place and go from there,” said Lindsay Tripodis, co-owner of the Rogue Bar and the designer of this flier.
The awesome artist roster for the evening includes Red Light Mind, the Automatic Erasers, and Dfactor (Defenders of the Righteous). All in attendance will get a great taste of musical flavor from Arizona and San Francisco. Ward Reeder and Orin Portnoy of The Automatic Erasers are particularly looking forward to the show.

“We enjoy meeting new people so come on down, and tell your friends, too,” Ward said.
“It is the best, biggest first Thursday of 2011, and it will be loud,” Orin said.
“It’s going to be a rock-filled night. Anyone who mentions Flier of the Week or the Phoenix New Times blog at the door gets a one-penny PBR on us!” Lindsay added. Now that’s a deal!
