Renowned actress Gwyneth Paltrow is negotiating a record deal with Atlantic Records, according to Monsters and Critics.
The label is in talks with Paltrow to make a country pop album. After all, she seems to be a hot reborn star in the performance market right now, having recently made appearances on Glee and on the Grammy Awards. Plus, the label would have a leg up in artist promotion in that everyone already knows her name.
There’s just one little problem though: Can Gwyneth find the time to commit to a record label even though her primary career is in the film industry?
Either way, she seems to be quite adamant about scoring a record deal. Good luck, Gwyneth, I guess. Personally I always loved her in the duet she did with Huey Lewis for their song “Cruisin’,” but that was just one song. Not to mention that I heard her film Country Strong kind of sucked. Maybe she should just leave the singing to her husband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.
