During the first season of The Train Tracks, that nifty little series where local bands play for unsuspecting audiences aboard Phoenix’s light rail, almost every band was part of the downtown scenester set.

This season, Random, a rapper, killed it, opening up doors for guys like Jim Bachmann, a Gilbert-based country singer with a gravelly voice and a enchant for hard luck songs. Jim and his band The Day Drinkers got a nice reaction from this car — though I hear he basically got chased out of another one.

I totally love it, and not just because I’m involved in picking the acts.
