Jimmy Eat World’s new album is due out this June, and the Arizona natives announced today that they’ll be touring the state in May. If you’re in Phoenix or Tucson, though, you might have a drive ahead of you — they’re eschewing the usual venues for dates in Yuma, Flagstaff, Casa Grande, Wickenburg (pop. 6,363), and Sierra Vista.

While they were at it, the band released a new song from the forthcoming Damage, the aggressively titled “I Will Steal You Back.” Stream it after the jump.

Tickets are on sale now, and I’m not sure how many people you can fit inside the Wickenburg Community Center, so today might be a good time to impulse-buy yourself the chance to admit you loved “The Middle” in 2001 with a bunch of like-minded fans. (Okay, okay — you might have been cooler than me and preferred Clarity.)

Your support strengthens our coverage.

We’re aiming to raise $30,000 by December 31, so we can continue covering what matters most to you. If New Times matters to you, please take action and contribute today, so when news happens, our reporters can be there.

$30,000

Here are the dates they’ve announced so far:

May 3: Strummer’s Village Tavern — Yuma
May 4: The Orpheum Theater — Flagstaff
May 9: Paramount Theatre — Casa Grande
May 10: Wickenburg Community Center — Wickenburg
May 11: Windemere Hotel — Sierra Vista

For more information, check out the announcement on Stateside Presents’s Facebook page and stay tuned to Up on the Sun. We’ll have more to say about it, if my play count on “A Praise Chorus” is any indication.
