The concert gods giveth and the concert gods taketh away.

Phoenix has been getting a whole lot on the giveth side lately. (Is this punishment for the whole Bon Iver-Fleet Foxes thing?!) The taketh part came with an announcement yesterday afternoon that Lil Wayne postponed his Ashley Furniture HomeStore Pavilion stop.

Weezy Tweeted Sunday that he suffered a gnarly eye gash while skateboarding in St. Louis. Nine stitches later, doctors advised him to take a couple days off. The days following the tumble happened to land him right here in the Valley. The tour will resume at the next scheduled stop in San Diego. No word on when the show will be rescheduled, or if opening talent Keri Hilson, Rick Ross, Far East Movement and Lloyd will be in tow. Refunds are available at point of purchase.

We hear he’s pretty upset about the whole thing. We spotted a couple teardrops running down his cheek.

But hey, let’s try a dose of that famous Weezy optimism. This gives fans an opportunity to study his new album, Tha Carter IV, coming out August 29. The rapper has claimed that this will be his final album before he officially retires from music to be a full-time dad. We’ll see about that.

Hopefully he’ll grace us with his presence before he takes his final bow.
