Yours truly is a big fan of Coachella, having attended the festival for the past 4 years, and this news only ramps up my excitement for the 2010 edition. Muse last played Coachella in 2004, when their music wasn’t being played during Monday Night Football broadcasts and promos for the ABC program V (I have often heard the Muse song, “Uprising,” lead MNF into a commercial for V featuring that same song). Over-saturation of said song aside, Muse is a smart choice for the festival, especially for those fans who wait on pins and needles for Pavement to finally be confirmed as the Sunday night headliner. However, what we have now (according to Consequence of Sound) is Muse, and they will simply have to do until the tentative Coachella lineup is announced in late January.
