We hate to generalize about festival attendance, but oh, well: Hipsters have Coachella, hippies have Bonnaroo, metal fans have the Big 4, and indie kids have South by Southwest. But what about pop music diehards? The kids? Well, cancel that road trip out to Jingle Ball or an iHeartRadio Music Festival (you don’t have a license, anyway): Arizonans who love Disney teen stars and thumping club pop have a show all to themselves when Phooson brings the likes of Selena Gomez, OneRepublic, and Cody Simpson to Phoenix. This is the biggest mini-Top 40 festival in the Valley, with a lineup of 10 totally saccharine artists looking to make tweenagers scream their faces off. Sure, you can bet most of the crowd will be in the 13- to 16-year-old range, but former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger, Gym Class Heroes, and smooth crooners Taio Cruz and Flo Rida (with those lyrics about strippers and broken hearts) might help entertain the older brothers and sisters roped into driving younger siblings to the show.
