Hey Gin Blossoms fans, did you miss GB lead singer Robin Wilson and guitarist Scotty Johnson’s intimate gig at Last Exit last Tuesday? Don’t stress. Wilson will be doing a very similar show again Tuesday, June 30 to continue to raise funds for the Love Hope Strength Foundation, a music centric cancer charity. As we reported last week, the Gin Blossoms frontman is one of 30 musicians from around the globe who will climb Africa’s Mount Kilimanjaro, the world’s largest freestanding mountain, in the fall to raise money for the Love Hope Strength Foundation.
The second intimate Robin Wilson performance will be held from 8 to 10 p.m. and is free, however, donations will be accepted at the door for the charity. Wilson will perform a variety of covers along with a few Gin Blossoms’ gems — “Hey Jealousy” was one of the hits thrown into last Tuesday’s set list along with covers from The Smiths and Cheap Trick. We recommend heading out to this show if you missed it the first time around. It’s a rare treat to see Wilson acoustically and in such a small club.
