Stephanie Foxx, lead singer of Martini Ranch‘s resident 80s cover band Rock Lobster will be honored as the Honorary Race Chair of the 2009 Komen Phoenix Race for the Cure. Foxx, a Chandler resident and mother of two, was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year and is currently undergoing treatment.

“I take every opportunity I can to educate others about the importance of early detection and getting annual mammograms, especially if there’s a history of breast cancer in your family,” says Foxx.

The race, which will be on Sunday, Oct. 11th in downtown Phoenix this year, is the largest 5K in Arizona. Last year, more than 31,400 participants helped raise a record $2 million.
