Planning to memorialize your love for Circus Mexicus in ink? Better get the official glyph!
Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers have issued an “official” version of their “glyph” via their blog.
The message that accompanies the image is part intellectual property primer, part vain attempt at quality control:
“We know you know that a lot of fans like wearing the RCPM glyph, whether it’s on a t-shirt or their new tattoo. And many fans enjoy creating their own homemade items. RCPM would like to make this process easier for everyone by providing the official version of the band logo. As long as you do not profit from the use of it, you may use it with our permission. But please note, this is a registered trademark and the glyph does have a top and bottom”
When news happens, Phoenix New Times is there —
Your support strengthens our coverage.
We’re aiming to raise $30,000 by December 31, so we can continue covering what matters most to you. If New Times matters to you, please take action and contribute today, so when news happens, our reporters can be there.
This is a sweet gesture, but my money is on most Peaceheads’ trying to duplicate it themselves and screwing it up in the process. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
